BBC bracket kit
I've got a question about the brackets on a bbc. I've got a 96 Vortech L29 454 in the shop right now. When I'm ready to install it, I'm curious if the alt./PS brackets from my 79 GMC 1/2T pickup with a SBC will fit on the new BBC?

yes to shoehorn into my thirdgen. I need to cut down on weight, and I don't feel like dumping a ton of money on stupid brackets if I don't need them. So again, Will the brackets from a SBC fit on a BBC?

Normally no. SBC mounting brackets will not work on a BBC. The spacing is all wrong. When you pick up a BBC to do an engine swap into a car that originally had a SBC, you need to get all the bracketry with it or you're going to have to buy new ones.
