355 for road racing / street
currently building up a 355 for my '84 TA since I have it sitting around. Will go for an LS1 eventually, but I might as well get some use out of this stuff in the meantime.
64cc Sportsman 2
4.030 Manley forged flat top pistons - 2 reliefs
GM rods with ARP bolts
"high" nodular crank (supposed to be stronger than regular cast?)
single plane intake
race prepped 750 double pumper
1 3/4 SLP headers with no cats
Erson solid roller - 238/246 @ 50, 112 LSA, 555 lift
any thoughts?
One concern I have is vacuum, I hope this cam isn't too big for my brakes. I also better be careful with that 5-speed

Overall it should be a stump pulling setup.

thanks for the info! What else does your program tell you, and which one are you using? I should check out some of those simulators.

That should be a pretty decent combo, should make plenty of power. Vacuum should not be an issue.
What was done to the carb? It might not be fun running a race prepped carb on the street. You might have idle, off idle, and cruise issues. I'm sure it will work fine WOT, but just driving around i bet it will be a major gas hog with issues.

As far as the carb goes, I should be alright. The guy we got this motor from was running 11s with this valvetrain and heads on a shot of nitrous, and the motor idled at 900rpm (my dad tuned the carb for the guy). I don't expect much gas mileage, but should be pretty driveable.
