I have a blown 305 in a 85' Transam and I would like to replace it with another 305 but I would like the new engine to have a holley carb, no egr system or o2 sensor, and headers. By doing this conversion will it screw up the ECM and will the existing HEI work. The purpose of keeping the 305 is that I would have an extra set of heads in addition to everything else matching like the cam/distributor. Guess I would have to disconnect the engine service light if I did the conversion.

 

The only thing you have to worry about is making sure you run a NON Computer controlled dist. with a holley carb.
