My waterpump and its heater hose...lack there of
On my water pump the opening for the heater hose is pluged and sealed... Why? In looking through my chilton the diagram shows the heater hose being attached to the pump on my car the only thing that i think is the heater hose gets sent right back into the engine right under the intake. WHats gives?

Being that its summer and i just bought the car I really dont know. I guess thats something to go check. How do i locate the heater hose? its not in the chelton. I think its getting redirected back into the engine but im not even sure if thats the right hose...
That diagram is for early models. Later years didn't use that port so it was simply plugged instead of designing a new water pump housing. The heater hose should be coming off the passenger side radiator tank a few inches below the cap.
Ulysses,
My '86 Trans Am TeePee Eye has the return hose from the heater core. There is also no hot water valve on the pre-1988 cars, so you get hot water to the core all the time. Personally, I like that so sediment doesn't rot out the core all summer long. I have the black shiney heater hose pointed right at the back ot the alternator:
