Gotta ghetto rig it, advice? (radiator)

I've got a pinhole leak on the sidebar of my radiator. When it's not pissing loads of luidm I can clearly see the small crack in one of the ridges near the battery. I hate to do it to my new Formula, but I can't afford a new one until I get down to school and settled into my new jobs. Any advice to hold it over for a month or two? I was thinking JB Weld...

I always put a can of black pepper in to hold those small leaks. Something I learned back in the ghetto. Is the leak towards the bottom or top of the radiator? If it is near the bottom I would not take a chance on overheating my motor. A used rad. can be had for $75.00 which is cheaper then a new/rebuilt/crate motor. Just my 2 cents.

for a easy and cost effective fix that will be good for at least a month or so .....drain the water down so it doesnt cover the hole in rad then dry it off , put some high temp silicone on the inside of the rad and the outside lots of it be very friendly putting this on . then let dry for about 2-3 hrs fill with water and atifreeze and drive i did this and it lasted for about 2weeks which is all it had to last but, i know it will last as long as you need it tooo hope this helps

I had a crack near the top (high enough so I could get to it from inside) and I just drained it a little and epoxied the inside and outside with a lot of epoxy and it held fine until I got a new radiator

I believe you could try filling the hole by soldering, or if you have access to a welder you could weld the hole up. I doubt a welding shop would even charge to weld a "pinhole".

hey man, I recommend this to everyone. I am a student with my '86 that decided it needed everything replaced this summer, so I'm a little short on cash most of the time. I needed a new radiator, so I bought one of these, and it seems like a deal to me.

check out performanceradiator.com
you can get a brand new 3 core aluminum radiator specifically for a camaro for $125. just make sure to buy a cap from them.

Get some Quicksteel epoxy putty and drain the rad, sand the outside around the hole and knead some epoxy and press it in there. It will last until a pin hole develops on the other side.
