I was road racing last night when I hit like 115 and the rpms dropped to 2,550 then when to 3,000, and then down again; I'd let off and get back on again and the samething. I think the car shut off, which is really weird because I've had it to 130 (guessing) before, and my cousin installed a computer chip ( when he owned it) and that took out the shut off. What happened???????????

Maybe it didn't shut off, but I just ran out of gear (I was still in third because it was floored)

the only mod I've done since I went 130 was the cat-back, But I'm almost positive that has nothing to do with it.

Was it a rapid on-off-on-off the power that left you bouncing off 115? That's the normal shut off speed on limiter equipped thirdgens. I don't think any thirdgens have rev limiters, so your being in 3rd still shouldn't have mattered. As to why it didn't do it before I have no idea.

If you're just guessing you might not have really been going that fast yet...

 

Ya need to re-burn your chip with the speed limiter set to 255.

Or... Put a switch on the VSS wire. It will set the SES light, but how often do you drive over 115?
