Bought my second thirdgen today :)

89 IROC with 350 fully loaded T-Tops(with GM recall fix) original owner with 130k for 4 grand. Paint looked new and had tons of new parts. I think I got a pretty good deal. Tech question time:
With that many miles do you think I will need to replace the fuel injectors and fuel pump anytime soon?

from what I understand you don't need to change the injectors ever, you can just get the system cleaned. BUT, if I were you, I'd wait until I did some mods, then get higher injectors and a better pump.

UVA3rdgen,

My '89 has the original injectors at 180,000 miles, but the original fuel pump only made it to 167,000 miles.

BTW, what's the GM recall fix you are talking about with the T-tops?

Somtehing that should be changed at that high of mileage would be the timing chain I'm thinking? (unless of course if it was already changed.)

I was just thinking about that. He had fixed so much I figure it was already done. I did not even know a motor could go that long with out it being changed. But diffinitely if it has not been done that is one of the first priorities.
