Serpentine Belt?

Can you get a serpentine belt that is the right size so I don't have to use the smog pump? I have one that is locked up and I thought it might be cheaper and easier to just run a smaller belt. If so where can I get one?

Your going to need a longer belt and you will have to reroute it, there is an article in the tech section about it, i did mine and needed a belt about 95" long.

I was looking at a friend's chevy pickup today and noticed that it was basically the same engine setup (TBI), but it does not have an air pump. What it does have is an idler pulley there, and the pass aluminum bracket is smaller. I am thinking about going out to the bone yards and looking for an early 90's pickup to grab that bracket piece from. (Just because I hate the way that thing looks just sitting there without anything in that pump mount)

if u delete the smog pump, dayco makes a belt, PN# 968k6 essentially it is a belt that is 96.8 inches long, and has 6 ribs. as for belt routing, starting at the crank pully, your going to go up over the ac compressor, under the idler pully, over the alt, then down & under the power steerin pump then up and over the water pump and your done. hope this helps
