Why is my L03 getting 200 miles to a tank?
Ok, my car is really making me mad. I had noticed that the gas mileage was getting worse so I decided to check it. I only got 200 miles on my last tank. I ran mid-grade as usual. I haven't been running it hard, either. In addition to the terrible gas mileage, it has lost some power. That is not a good thing.
It is getting about 15 miles per gallon. Before, it got a little over 20 on average. Can someone tell me what I can do to fix it?

I thought about that, but I wasn't sure if it would help. I had a tune up recently. Come to think of it, that is when all this started. Looks like a real tune up is in order. Need to get the O2 sensor, as well. I don't know.... you may just be saying that to keep my car running crappy
.... You do drive a GT.
Could my fuel pressure regulator have anything to do with it? A friend of mine mentioned this. I didn't know if it had anything to do with it. Are there any more sensors that can go bad? The air temperature sensor in the breather, maybe?

If your FPR ruptured a diaphragm or something, sure it could be a problem. Check your fuel pressure with a gauge....with the FPR vacuum-line connected, then remove it and look for pressure to go up around, say, 5 psi or so. That means it's working properly.
As far as the other sensors, I don't know of a real way to test them. IAT doesn't usually go bad so I wouldn't count on that one....
And btw, I own a GT now but I used to have a 91 RS. If I didn't still like the cars, I wouldn't be here now would I?

You need a tune up. I would bet the house that your 02 is shot. A bad 02 will not suplly the correct voltage to the ECM to make fuel adjustments.

Thanks for the help. I will try this and see what I get. BTW, I hope the O2 sensor is still good.
I know. I was giving you a hard time about the Mustang.

That's all I ever got on my L03. I bought it @ 155,000 or so and I'd be amazed to get 210 miles/tank. I looked everywhere and could only find the Bosch O2; wanted Delco. In hindsight, I should've looked harder. From analyzing my WinALDL logs I'm convinced the Bosch is total crap, but better than the old sensor in any case.
