ok my heads on my 350 have the cast# of 14102193. are those the junk swirly heads.

They are 350 swirl port heads but they aren't necessarily junk. With port work they can flow really well for a stock casting. These heads actualyl flow more on the exhaust side than L98, 416, and 081 heads. They make better use of the small amount of intake flow. Search under the name kdrolt for 193 head data. I have simply had to reverse my opinion on these heads with all the new tech data that has emerged. There are some links to these threads in the TBI stickies.

thanks for the quick reply. my engine is just sitting there on an engine stand waiting for an intake and headers before i drop it in. so i might go ahead and port the heads while i wait on parts.
