Speedo recalibration...
I think I'm going to get my butt in gear and put the 3.42's I have on my car. Now I know I have to recalibrate my speedo. I've seen several products that do this, but what is your advice? What should I do? Is there somewhere you recommend or a certain product? Thanks a bunch

You're gonna have to change the little plastic gears and speed sensor in the back of the transmission. There's a tech article on how to do it here on thirdgen. But I don't know what the part numbers for the gears and speed sensor are for 3.42, only 3.73. Maybe someone else around here knows...

Yeah, but whats the deal on the sensor. Does it also have to be changed? I'm also getting ready to replace my 2.73's for a 3.42 Zexel take off. I've searched the old post and have been left confused on the subject. My 86 Trans Am has the two wires coming out of the tail housing instead of a cable so I'm guessing its electronic with a sensor. And yes I've already got my 28 spline axles.
