A few general questions.
Its been some time since Ive posted here, since I yanked my engine, roughly 6 months or so. So heres my deal, put the engine back in, "almost" everything is hooked back up. It seems I broke a few vacuum lines(old brittle bleh) and what I would like to know, is there any place to buy new ones, or do I have to take my risks at a junkyard? Ive talked to advanced and autozone and they only have basic connectors and whatnot. Second, Ive read in the haynes manual and Ive had people tell me that on the shift linkage that connects to the transmission itself, theres suppose to be a cotter pin, I took the nut off completely and looked for a hole in the bolt and I just cant seem to find one. Last thing is, the bar on the altenator(I think it connects to the manifolds?) If thats correct, I got headers and can't seem to get that bar to fit correctly, and the one on the other side of the engine, I have no idea where its suppose to go. Thanks for any help!
Depending on the vacuum lines it's entirely possible to just go to any random auto parts store and buy the correct size and length. If they tell you they don't have it, look for yourself because they're just unaware.
I can't really remember the other stuff. I do remember leaving those bars off when installed my headers, though. Actually, I never had them in the first place because my car is an 87 with serpentine accessories and I couldn't find them.

when I put my headers on I reused the stock manifold stud for the alternator mount. the stock exhaust manifold stud was like 3" long, so I put a nut on one side and bolted the header on with a deep socket. then I sandwiched the alternator bar between two more nuts at the other end of the stud(about 2.5 inches from the head). It works great. I did the same on the AC bar(mount).

ttypecamaro, I see what your saying about the bolts, I was wondering where those 2 went lol. I did try to get that bar from the Alt bracket on, but was just really hard, since the bolt wouldnt go all the way down because of the headers.
rezinn, since you have left yours off, are/have there been any problems associated with it? Just want to make sure im doing everything right. I was unaware that the auto parts stores carried the actual lines, Ill check with some around town tomorrow and find out, if not maybe Chevrolet might have some?
SLEEPER 86, I think im a tad confused, what do you mean by junkyard? As in getting one from there? Its all stock 700R4 and accessories, and are you saying that some lock washers and locktite will work also?
Thanks for the replies, helping alot, really wantin to get my car back on the road, specially with it being summertime in the south
