Got one polylock jam nut higher than the rest?

Got one polylock jam nut higher than the rest?
Was adjusting the rockers and noticed on number 7 the polylock jam nut was sitting higher than the rest. Figured I just went too much on the adjustment so i redid it and it was in the same spot. Is there a possible lifter problem here? hydralic roller with with comp pro mag 1.6rr. stock lifters. comp custom cam

Check the simple things first.
Are all the pushrods the same length? Are all the rockers the same ratio? Are all the roller lifters the same height?
Sometimes manufactures make mistakes to.

I'd also check that the rocker stud is the same heighth as the others. Could be a slightly longer stud, or one that's pulling out of the head (not good!)......

And all the same installed height? If verified, then it almost has to be a pushrod mength differnece or a lifter/valve stem difference...

anyone have anymore ideas? I did the adjustment cold using the 2 crank position method. Think I shoud try adjusting that valve while its running? Anyone have a method for the 4 position method?

Definitely try adjusting them with the engine running. The other method id great to get "in the ball park", but IMO the only "true" way of getting the final adjustment right is with the motor running....

Why is it some people try to make things more difficult than they are?
Are you sure the set screw(s) aren't just in further on that valve(s) than the others? If so the overall body of the nut will be higher.
If that's not it then take out the pushrod(s) of the valves that seem to sit higher and compare them to some of the others to make sure they're all the same length.
If that’s not it, then take all the nuts off and lay a straight edge across all the studs to see if they all sit as the same height.
If that's not it, then do the same to all the valves. Maybe some are longer for some unknown reason.
If that's not it, take the rocker arms off and check to make sure the pushrod seats are the same distance from the fulcrum point as the others.
If those are fine then pull out the lifters and compare them to the overall size of each other. If all those seem OK externally, then try to get (manufacture’s name) to replace the lifters. You’re more likely to get cooperation from them if you can honestly tell them you’ve checked all the other things first.

Make sure the fulcrum is the right way. One side is machined for the polylock to seat into.
Losen all the rockers a little bit. Fire the motor up and adjust them with it running. Then check the height.

I admit I didn't know that either. Have to check mine the next time I have the valve covers off (which hopefully won't be for a while)....
