Questions on home porting Lb9 heads
Okay, I see the self porting guide and I understand all that, but what about valves? Like If I port all that will I have to buy new valves? If so which ones do I get and where do I get them? What else is needed?
Thanks.

No, you don't "have to"; but they'll make a world of difference.
And, if your valves are old, odds are you need new ones anyway.
The ones to get are the Manley Street Flow ones. You might have to at least get your seats cut to 1.94" (stock for a 350) to be able to use them though, I'm not sure they make 1.84" ones.
They're about $130 for all 16 valves.

What springs and retainers should I get? Would LT1's be ok? i don't see why not considering they have a higher rpm range and hp.
