engine id codes
I know this has been asked a few times, but I need to know where to locate the engine id code on my block, I have all the accessories off the front and I can see the front of the block plain as day, but I cant find any codes/letters/anything
I know that its somewhere in the rear drivers side of the engine, but I dont have access to getting to that as of yet.
I'm sorry if this is a repeat question but I did a search and couldnt find anything.

And once you read the mortec site and go back and look at your engine, you'll figure out that you don't need anything (but some patience on some) to 'get to it'. Good luck.

I don't know if Mortec points this out, but the last three digits of the casting number are also on the sides of the block.
I've been able to look up on the pass side of the block and see them, but it requires a jack (for us with "a little extra" in the waist area) and laying on your back.
I don't know if that's any easier than peaking down between the firewall and block though.

There's a pad on the block in front of the passenger head. Get all the numbers that are stamped on it.
