1.65 roller rockers, will they work on 88 5.7 tpi

I thought i saw where you needed a pushrod mod for these to work. Will they give me a considerable Horse increase or should I change the cam. my stock cam is 207/213 415/430 if i do the math right i should increase to 456/473. the heads are center bolt.any other suggestions would help Thanks

You will most likely need longer pushrods, and you need a length checker to figure out how long. I know there have been a few topics about how much more power changing ratio rockers would make, and I believe the larger increase was from less friction from changing from stamped to roller.

I've heard of crane advertising 16hp gains with switching to roller rockers, there was a discussion about it here:

If the rocker arms are not self aligning,you will need to install guideplates and hardened pushrods. This will require the press in rocker studs to be removed and replaced by screw in studs. I am assumming that you have the stock cylinder heads?

I personally would say that the 1.65 would be too big for a 350. I remember an article in CHP saying the best gain was out of a 1.6 roller rocker. They tested the 1.5 1.6 and 1.65 and the lost some with the 1.65 and the 1.6 yielded the best gains.
