Of all the times for the rear hatch motor to die! Right after I get through tech at the track, I put my TTops on and close the rear hatch, but it wouldnt stay shut. It dosent make the noise like normal. If i push the release button it will click, but it wont lock down. How/what do I need to do? I have another Camaro to get parts from.

 

I messed with it some. I can get it to lock shut now, but the motor that helps open/close it still dosent work.

 

Mine did that and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, it was getting power and all the switches seemed to be ok so I just took the motor housing off and put the armature with the gear attached to it back inside the pulldown housing and spun the armature by hand untill it had lowered the catch down far enough so I could shut the hatch and it would be tight, it works pretty good this way but I still want to fix it the right way one day.

 

Talk to lon at top down solution or do a (search). i imagine it is the reversing switch common problem .
