EFI or Carbed

I am looking to buy an 86 Trans Am. One has a EFI (I think its Fuel Injected)LB9 and the other is a Carbed 305. Which would be a better engine to mod easily and what is the difference in HP of the two. Both are Automatics. Thanks

As far as power and torque stock...go with the tpi car, assuming everything else is okay. the 86 LB9 is probably the weakest one made (peanut cam) but in stock form will out perform a stock LG4 or L69. I would check out both cars very well, miles are important. Good luck

I would say go for the TPI. I am thinking that you have the peanut cam so you will need to swap that one out. A good cam to swap it for would be a 350 cam. As far as mods go the exhaust is the first thing you should change both of those cars are choked if you didnt already know that. As far as more HP the TPI will have more from what I remember. Mods are pretty easy in the TPI like porting all of the intake, putting headers on both will be kinda hard unless you remove all of the smog and ac stuff then it is really a cake walk. Tha tshould get you started.
