Question on swapping steering columns

Are all 3rd gen F body steering columns interchangable? For example, I'm looking at pulling a column out of an '89 Formula that has an auto tranny and putting it into my '87 Formula that has a manual tranny. Will it bolt right up, no problems? Also, can you use an air bagged equipped column on a non air bagged equipped car if you swap out the steering wheel? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

yes all thirdgen f body columns should work, you might have to watch things like intermittent wipers or cruse control where the harnesses might be differant

Also pay attention to the passkey wire... Don't wanna break that one. And, I believe there's a safety bar to keep one from starting the car while it is in any gear other than Park or Neutral. - John '89 L98
