What kind of hp and tq would a 74' 472??

Self explanitory, and no I'm not putting one in my 3rdgen!

I'm sure you can do search on "1972 cadillacs" and come up with it, but I'd guess 225-250HP and 375-400ft/lbs

The stock valve train is very weak. It doesn't survive for long above 5000. You can build more HP and torque by simply changing the intake with a Performer. The stock intake sits too low and the fuel must travel up before going down into the heads. An aftermarket intake should make 40-50hp more.

Why stop at a 472. The 500 is identical except for the longer (more torque) stroke.
