Help!!!!
I'm in the process of replacing the coolant temperature sensor on my 85 IROC. In the process of taking the old one off, I broke the plastic connector and want to make sure I don't do the same when putting the new one on. It's really in a bad position to try and put any torque on it. Does anyone have any experience with this. I know it requires a 19mm whatever. I'm trying to use a deep socket, but part of the water pump interferes with seating the socket squarely on the sensor. I'm looking for suggestions on how or what to use to finish up this job.

Man I've tried that, but there is a hose and pipe in the way. Will taking that hose off make much difference?

don't ever be afraid to take things off to get to other things. just take your time when doing things and take off whatever will make the job easier. Sometimes it is actually quicker if you remove some things(besides, hoses are an easy off, just make sure that if it's a coolant system hose that you shove a rag in the end so that all of your coolant doesn't drain out.)
