95 subrau Please tell me what you think is causeing this, thanks

Every once in a while when you come to a stop the car will idle way done and stumble a little and then re gain it self, if you put it in netrual during this time it stop right away, now if I manully shift thought the gears it will go to red line in first and second with out missing a beat, but when itgets to 3rd it will sputter every once ina while,? Could the tranny be slipping a little? the motr runs smooth and it does not seem like a ingiton miss. The car is a 4 speed auto. Thanks

Check your IAC, TPS and min Air, if any of those are off that can cause the idle issue, not sure why it would crap in 3rd.
