who makes/what is a good set of lifters for the 305TBI? I was thinking about getting a higher grade set of lifters instead of the factory ones...i have 1 lifter that i bad, so i might replace them all...i need something that will work with my stock cam now and then also be good to go for an LT1 cam down the road...thanks for the help

Well, the way I see it, a lifter, is a lifter, is a lifter.
I think for you application (and 90% of cars out there), the gm hydraulic lifter should more than suffice.

I guess if you must get something aftermarket, you can try a set of comp cams' lifters

GM makes a great set of factory roller lifters that came in your engine.

Seriously, if you know for sure that you need to replace one of the lifters, just order a new one or find a complete set online. They're really cheap used and not really that expensive new.

there are only a few manufactuers of lifters, there are a lot of printers for lifter packaging. in a nut shell there are no "good" lifters and no "bad" lifters.

if you're planning on installing a cam later, save yourself the work and just get a complete kit. with a cam and lifters. I just switched heads, cam, lifter, and put a new intake and carb on mine. It wasn't fun, but it wasn't hard.
