What is this? Connected to vacuum.

Can't figure out what this device should be connected to. I found it hanging near my right front suspension. The tube connected goes to the crankcase and supplies vacuum which seems to pull the rod in. Does anyone now what this is, and how to reattach it?

It looks like cruise control, but why is it hanging near the fender? do you have cruise?

It's an 86 Camaro, 305 LG4. It has cruise control, but it hasn't worked since I got the car.

I think it got knocked out one day, and just ended up hanging where seen. The tube runs out towards the passanger side.

Yup, it's the heat riser valve actuator. There's a valve in the exhaust, maybe ¾" thick, between the Y-pipe and the right manifold; that diaphragm used to be attached to that valve, and was what worked it.
