closed loop temperture

At what temperature does the computer switch into this mode. I changed to a 180 stat because the idiot light flickered on and off a few times. In retrospect I should have changed the temp sending unit first . Radiator is clean as far as I can tell as well as condensor.Mechcanical fan a possibility. Does my car need a air dam? I have an 84 berlinetta

Should be around 140°.

Yes you need an air dam.

What idiot light "flickered"?
