Putting all the A/C stuff back in
Putting all the A/C stuff back in
i was wondering what would be the best/least expensive way to go about putting all the A/C stuff back in my firebird? back about 3 years ago i was a dumbass and ripped my whole A/C system out. mainly to have more room under the car for "modifications". well the racing is over and now i just drive my car to get me from point A to point B. and now that the rain and heat is coming back here in FL i'd like to know (especially if anyone's done this before) where to get the parts and about how much its gonna cost. is there anything i can get from the boneyards or will everything have to be new? thanks for the help.

You can get the condenser coil, evaporator and housing, control head, and the metal parts of the tubes, out of a junkyard car.
I'd recommend a new compressor, new dryer, and new orifice tube; all new O-rings; and new flex lines. You can get "barrier" type A/C hose and put it on the metal part of the lines off a junk car. If you do it that way, you can put the PAG oil and R-134A in it, with the best chances of success.
