AC was pulled, can I put it back on?

AC was pulled, can I put it back on?
I pulled the AC off of my car right before it was taken to the crusher, and now my new car had AC but it was pulled to save weight. My old AC worked but its been sitting in a box for a few weeks. Can I just bolt it up and charge it or is it damaged from sitting around? I clearly have no idea how AC systems work so I figured I'd ask.
