When I had to replace mine the same thing happened. I went to Trak Auto and bought one. The item # was right and it matched my old one good, However, it was slightly different, and I returned and went somewhere else and got the right one.

sometimes those tubes arent lined up exactly right and you may need to bend them ever so slightly. i'm talking no more than an 1/8 of an inch or so, because 1) you might kink/crack one of them, or 2) screw up the joint where they are brazed to the core, you'll have to do it all over again. does it match the old one?? I remember having problems getting mine in when I did it, isnt there some type of little bracket that holds the core in? I might have left that out, cant exactly remember. all I know is that it took a little coaxing to get it in, she was prude.
