Autozone? Any chance it will crack the pipe? I need to expand the end of the I pipe about a 1/16 to an 1/8 diameter so the muffler will fit. It's a 2 1/2 " pipe right now. Thanks

Autozone actually sells muffler pipe expanders that you use with your air tools. It's like $25.00. I don't think they rent one, and I have actually used it with some success with 1/2" drive hand tools. It's much easier with the pneumatic stuff though.

Autozone rented me one, if you leave a $15 deposit they should let you too. However, good luck getting 1/8" by hand . Better shoot for 1/32-1/16" unless you have a good vice and some air tools.

Yeah, it just struck me that using the tool on my intermediate pipe, with it still on the car, will be a real hoot. I might end up torquing the pipe right off by acciident, since you have to put a half inch drive on it and turn the expander like a screw. hmmmm....
