Remove air pump=Oil leak

I have developed an oil leak, and want to start with easy things first then go to the more involved things. The only thing I have done this year was remove the air pump. I don't think I put bolts back in the accessory holes. Could this cause my leak?

No, not putting the bolts back in should not cause any kind of leak.

You might want to have a look at the other end of some of those holes. There's a hole in the front of the block going right through to the crankcase that likes to leak oil if it's not plugged.

The upper bolt hole on the pass side of the block that's used for the smog pump bracket, on the front beside the water pump down low, goes RIGHT DIRECTLY INTO the crankcase. In fact if it had a mechanical (carb) fuel pump, that bolt has to be real short, or it will hit the fuel pump rod and keep that from working.

If that one is not there, you will most definitely have an oil leak.

Put a short bolt in it, with a little silcone on the threads.
