Car will not start.
1990 IROC 5.0 M/T Convertible w/43k miles.
Car has been parked for 6 years, but past owner claimed it ran up to a few years ago. Has not been driven normally since 1999.
I stuck 5 gallons of super unleaded in it and a small octane boost, in case the gas is super old.
Car runs if you spray cleaner down the Intake so the spark is working.
Cranking over the car repeatably and using the gas petal a lot makes no gas smell. Ok, no fuel getting to the engine. I.E. the car is not being flooded(gas smell) and it will not run without the spray. Ok.
I found the DLC connector, however, it was attached to the fuse block, not near the tranny tunnel. That probably is not a big deal.
When I looked in the connector, there where only 5 of the 12 slots with pins in them.
The pins where in position A, B, C, M, and K. Or if you used to the number way, 4, 5, 6, 10 and 12.
In other words, there was no fuel pump jumper slot.
I ran codes, and it keep coming up with 12 over and over. Battery was dead when I got it, so it was replaced yesterday, and the car has not run since, well not including the spray running. So maybe the codes will not fire without it running.
I pulled the fuel filter, some gas dribbled out. I cranked over the car with the fuel filter out, and there was not pulsing of gas.
Also, when the car is turned over, never once do I hear the pump prime.
Ok, really starting to sound like a fuel pump. However, there are numerous fuelable links in the system and relays. Anyone know where they normally are, or how to check them, or where to get a good book that will tell me where they are?
Looking under the car at the tank, makes me realize that taking out the tank should be the LAST thing you want to do if one can avoid it.
Any thoughts? Anyone have a true scanner in the DFW area?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Code 12 means the dist is not firing, thats normal because the car is off. If it had any other codes stored, it would have displayed them after it flashed code 12 three times.
There is a fuel pump fuse mounted underneath the hood on later models, and I believe that includes the 90 model year as well. Its on the passenger side, near the battery.
You can pull the rear seats down, lift up the carpet, and find a fuel pump connector. You can disconnect it there, and check for current there. If you have power to the fuel pump, then the pump is bad. You already verified the pump isn't turning over. If it has current, it means it needs replacing.

I got to the wireharness going into the full pump. There is a black, gray and purple.
Which one should I try to prime? I am only getting a + current out of the purple one when the car igintion is on. When I turn the key, the gray one does not prime at all.
I was going to run a wire directly to the connector to the pump and see if I get a prime.
Any idea which wire I should power to?
Thanks.
