need ignition help

I am in the proces of taking out all the CC stuff in my car and would like to know if I can get rid of the HEI and use a points distributor. What would i need. this is strictly a track car.

HEI is far superior to points, that's why GM introduced it 30 years ago.

So If I keep the HEI do I only need a distributor or do I need a wiring harness?
