ok, a few days ago i was going to college and my temp gauge starting climbing. mind you that it was like 50 degrees out and i have a V8tbi with open element. it got so high that it almost reached the red mark, then all of a sudden it went back down. it has down this quite a few times now, but the weird thing is was that once when it said it was in the red marked, i pulled over and opened my hood, and it wasnt that hot. anybody have any ideas???

88 IROC with cobbled together (not by me)drivetrain, 86 (?) TPI unit on an '83 305,CE subframe connectors, Edelbrock strut tower brace, polygraphite bushings all around...it handles like a dream, but man is it hard to push!!
