miss at low rpm????
getting ready to take this thing to the track i fire it up and make one last check that nothing is leaking and everything is working. i go gas up and when i tryed starting it at the station, the starter lugged bad, as if it was really advanced or the battery was dead. finally it starts and i get it home. shut it off and same thing. checked timing, checked battery condition, starter is good. if i let it cool it starts fine, so 15min later i fire it back up and suddenly the engine develops a miss at idle.
It's a consistant miss but im pretty sure all 8 fire.. if i rev it above 1500 it runs smooth. driving it like this causes the car to shake badly and taking off it sputters and misses until 1500+ where it runs normally.
what the-!?
i don't know if the two things are connected..
does anyone have any idea whats going on??
PS-i thought maybe the alternator is going bad, but i just got it bench tested and it's still strong.

ignition moduel?? has sort of a low and high RPM mode, you can bring it somewhere to have it tested.. but the more that i think of it, it sounds like a vacumm leak, do u have a vacume tester? is it carbed or TPI?
i got to be right one of these times

if you have a carb. the idel circuts in the stock rochester were made to be very lean. if you pick up the book by doug roe it shows you how to get a better idel.
