L98 question

Finally started "looking into" the L98 I pulled out of my red IROC. I already know its not the original engine so no surprise there. However, when I pulled the oil pan it has 4 bolt main bearing caps. It has the one piece rear main, the one piece oil pan gasket, the center bolt valve cover heads (I still need to check to see if it has the roller cam - didn't do that yet). Did the L98 's have 4 bolt main bearing caps?? Thanks.

A Corvette L98 would, an F-body L98 would not have 4 bolt mains. A replacement, crate, or 'service' engine would also have 4-bolt mains though.

It's likely a truck block or a GM goodwrench motor. Why not just get the casting numbers and look them up?

Thanks. It's got the iron heads so at least they didn't come off a vette. I'll pull a valve cover and get the number off the heads, too. Is there a place on this site to check the numbers. Just found them on a piece of box cardboard from a couple of months back (wrote them down, didn't find them in my SBC interchange guide book and then forgot to investigate further).
