I have been reading these pages to see if i can find answers to some of my problems and for some of them, they seem to be caused by a "Lean Condition" well thats great, but I dont know what that means. one example of this is when i start accelerating in any gear it seems like the car is hesitent and then the acceleration kicks in (this makes for a bit of a jerky ride). but one page said that that may be caused by a "lean condition." could someone please explain what that means, and how i might remidy it.
thanks.

The ideal Air/Fuel ratio in the cylinder of your engine is i believe 14.7:1, air:fuel, If you have 15:1 that is considered lean (lean on fuel) if you have 13:1 that is rich (rich on fuel). A rich condition will smoke black, become sluggish etc. A lean condition CAN make a little bit more power, but is creates more wear on an engine, and to lean will burn it up. Seems weird, but less fuel = hotter.

VERY possible.

In fact likely

Check for codes, if you're lean you'll throw a code.
