Car won't run with IAC connector off for adjustment? NEED HELP FAST!

I did everything it says to do but the car won't run with the connector off, you can keep it running by revving it up, but as soon as you let off it dies. What gives? By the way I am attempting to adjust the IAC.

Have you made any modifications to your engine or is it stock?
What I had to do to keep the engine running after unplugging the IAC was either adjust the throttle stop screw out a little to increase the idle speed or use a small washer/spacer between the throttle and the stop screw to keep the engine running until I could adjust the throttle stop screw.
Once you get the idle speed set, you need to check the Throttle position sensor voltage to make sure it is within specification.
