What should I expect to pay for a ring job, and what ever else has to be done with it for the ring job(crank bearings,etc.)if I take the motor down to just the block and heads and take it to a machine shop ?1990, 5.7,roller

 

Call around for pricing in your area, stock rebuild in my area would run about 1100-1200, which would include all the labor on it. You might save a hundred or so by taking it apart yourself. Ofcorse that's using jobber parts, the more you want in quality, the more you'll have to pay.
