Timing my new motor?

Engine: 310 LG4
Transmission: 700R4 w/2200 stall
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Timing my new motor?
Ok, i'm needing to time my motor (new build) but, I dont have a timing marker or anything else to tell me what the timing is, how can I accomplish this. If I get a marker, where exactly do I position it, or does it matter? I have a new chrome timing cover it didnt come with any marker.

What have you got for a damper?
Get a timing tab that mounts to two timing cover bolts.
