VATs system, owner b4 me tried to bypass it...
Ok, I have an 89 IROC, with the VAT's system thing on my car... it turns out the steering column was previously switched, and due to that, the "chip" thing on my key isn't the correct key to start my car. The owner before me bypassed it, because I traced the wires comming from the column, and I find two orange wires just haning under the dash.. my question is, where do the wires usually go after leaving the column? I looked around, but didn't see any other orange wires... thanx
I think the orange wires plug in to white wires,it is a specific plug it goes into, none of the other wires will fit it. http://sethirdgen.org/vats.htm try this it might help.
