Cam Timing
Cam Timing
I bought a new double roller timing chain for my car. At 100k i figured i better do it, anyway on the gear it says i can advance the cam timing 2deg. or stock timing or retard it 2 deg. What should i do. on my old 84 ta i advanced it 2 deg and it made a the car about a tenth faster but i dont know any thing about these computer cars. So what should i do for the best performance without messing up any of my computer stuff.
Thanks

2 degrees doesn't ammount to a hill of beans one way or the other, really. I'd shoot for 2* advanced like you were planning to do. You have to figure you're giving back one of those degress to chain stretch in the first 15 minutes of run time anyway.
