really need some help!
i posted this on the carb board but there really isn't that many people that reply there and i really really need some thoughts from you guys cause i don't wanna end up with the wrong products or shiitty ones for that matter ok with a lot of conflicting posts on holley vs. edelbrock vs. demon i'm getting a little confused, i know a little, not enough apparently or i wouldn't be asking. but it'd be great if i got some opinions off you guys before i order the stuff...bare with me if any of these wouldn't even work, i'm still learning sorry but here are the carb choices 1)holley 600cfm double pumper 2)holley 600cfm 4150 hp pro series 3)edelbrock 1405 or 1406(how would i benefit from an electric?) 4)Road DeMon 625cfm electric choke 5)Speed DeMon 650cfm i'm hearing great things about demon, if you guys know which demon would be best for me that would probably be my final choice...as for the intake, is there any big difference between the brands, holley, weiland, edelbrock?? and the performer RPM would be a little to much for an L69 i guess? but i was told that the regular performer was only a little better than stock, so i don't know...if anyone could answer all my questions i'd really appreciate it! before i order everything i need to know from you guys cause you really know your stuff. Please give me your opinions and some knowledge! if i didn't mention it, it's an 85 ta L69 5 speed thanks!

The4 first step is to find out what CFM rating you need. www.engineprosoft.com/ has a good free calculator. Your in the right ball park as far as needs with a 600cfm. You could go bigger and tune down the carb but from what your saying you dont know much so that might not be an option. I personaly like the 670 SA holley, its a no nonsencce ready to go carb. As far a chokes go I prefere an electric ,I dont like extra cables running into my car "they look cheap". "350 ap, but it should work great on a 169"
Maifolds are generaly user prefrence I like wieand, wieand has a wider power band than edelbrock. If you have the hood clearance get a stealth. Stealth's have the widest power band of the dual plane manifolds and they seem to fit everyones thirdgens except mine
One more note, I teseted in "stock forms" on my firebird lg4 an edelbrock 1406 and a holley 80457 and the holley had 400 more rpm to it on the top and pulled alot better through the bottem also.

thanks...i think i'm goin with the weiland stealth or the performer RPM, only because i do plan on getting a 350 later on, as for the carb i really want a demon, the speed demon 650 mechanical...but if anyone can convince me otherwise, i'll go with a holley 600, any more opinions guys??? thanks!
