Rubber question

Hey I have a set of Cooper Cobra tires on my 89 Camaro. I was wondering if I can turn them around so the white letters arent showing? I want to make my car all black and I cant really do that with the white letters. I heard some where after you roll with radials for awhile in one direction, if you turn them around it kills the tred and makes them wear funny and faster. Can some one fill me in?

I asked a guy about that old wifes tale once before. He told me that it wasent true anymore. He said that along time ago that was true but not anymore. After he told me that I had the tires on my truck (BFG TA radials) changed and raced it and drove it at high speeds and never had a single problem. I would do it if they don't have a directional tread pattren.

If they are directional, you can just take it to a tire shop and have them unmount them and switch sides.
