Need help with hardware specs for starter
Hey guys,
I just got a new lightweight starter for my 350 crate motor. It is a brand new block but made specifically for 69-85 gm vehicles. The two bolts are in line with each other and I believe I have a 168 tooth flywheel. The bolts from the old starter have too much un-threaded space at the top near the head for the new starter as it now has about an inch of vertical play. My question is: Can anyone tell me the diameter and thread type of these starter bolts along with the stock length so I can go to the hardware store and get some new ones? The originals are on my car and it is locked up in my friends shop until 3 tomorrow when I start working on it again. Thanks!!!

87rs402,
It was only last night I saw them last but I can't remember at all nor did I remember to bring them with me. (DUH) I do remember one being much shorter than the other though. Does anyone have a book they could look it up in? Thanks!

scoggin-Dickey says the long one is 3/8-16 x 4 21/64" and the short one is 3/8-16 x 1 27/32" So I guess I answered my own question, Thanks man! You were close
