Oil filter gasket binding
Alright guys i just put in a rebuilt 350 engine into my car, the thing has given me nothing but problems. I started it up for the first time today after 30 seconds of running oil just shoots out of the bottom of the car. So i look at everything down there and the oil filter gasket is bunched up between the filter and the block so i think hmm crappy fram filter, I drain the oil buy a new bosch filter put it in as tight as i can with my hands fill engine with new oil clean the bottom of engine start the car and 30 seconds later the exact same thing happens the oil filter gasket is bunched up again. Now i have been changing my own oil for 7 years now and this has never happened to me so any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Have to ask, do you oil the gasket before installing the filter?
Is the filter mount surface smooth, no dings or scratches?
