Exsessive crankcase pressure
I recently got my car running. Engine is a zz3 crate motor with about 30k-40k miles on the clock. I have a HSR on the engine. Engine seems to run good. I've only put about 25 miles on the engine since installation.
I'm running SD with the 7730 ECM and a custom chip. Timing is set at 6btdc.
The crank pressure is high enough, with 2 pcv valve going to vacuum, I have to leave the oil fill cap off, or oil blows out of the dip stick tube. I have nothing to compart to, but it seems to run well. There isn't any oil burning thru the pipes. with the oil cap off, you can see the engine blow hot air 18 inches off of the valve cover at Idle or a little more RPM. Its blowing oil out of the cap because of the pressure.
Everything else is normal. Oil pressure is 35 at idle on a mechanical guage.
I'm stumped. Any help is much appreciated.
TIA,
Joe
After another search, I found rings the most common cause. I'll do a leakdown and compression test and see what that shows.

Definitely do a compression test. What you have is blowby, and blowby is the indicator of a bad motor. My old 302 had 10,000 miles on it and blowby very similar to what you describe.... It self destructed a few thousand miles later.
