454???
I got a .060" over 2 bolt main 454 block given to me. It should clean up around .080" or .100" over. I want to build it with some good cast iorn heads, small cam, edelbrock MPFI conversion, cast manifolds, a very mild build. Maybe 400 HP @ 4,500 and 550 ft/lbs @ 2,500 or so. What do I do? Drop this into a 3rd gen? Maybe pull the 312 out of the G20 and stick in the 454? Then the 312 into a F-body? Only time will tell.

It probably already has good cast iron heads. Get the casting numbers. 781 heads are very common and with some 2.19/1.88 valves installed and a bit of porting, they perform very well.
My blocks were bored out to .070 with no problems. .100 is about the limit of the block unless the cylinder walls are sonic checked. If good then .125" over is the max.
What you want to drop it into is up to you.

I guess I should have clarified it is a block that was used for a dragster. It is still in good shape, just needs a rebore and a couple of bellhousing bolts removed. It was removed from the dragster because the transmission bolts worked loose and 2 broke off. At the time it was decided to buy a standard bore 454 block and put the high dollar pistons in the other block, rather than buy new pistons. $800.00 or more for the ones they were running in it. It was run on methanol so the bores are washed. It will definately clean up at .080" over now that I have inspected it closely. It has been notched for aluminum rods so I am thinking seriously of a stroker. There block is without heads!! The only thing I got was the block and main caps. I am looking at one of the speedway motors rotating assemblies. Then I want some good cast iorn heads on it. Good heads and a torque cam. That way I can have good horsepower and great torque. I want this thing to KICK you in the pants good. 5,000 is as high as I plan to ever run the engine.
You'll already know what it is going into, I am afraid. I have a good feeling that my BRICK is going to kick some @$$ in a year or so.
Then my TBI 312 will go into a F-body(RS) or a G-body(Omega or Malibu).
The 383 is on hold for right now. My brother is looking for a 2nd gen camaro though. TBI 383 in a 2nd gen?
