Difference between 91 L98 and Vortec 350 blocks?

Is there any differences. My dads 97 Tahoe got a new motor and I got the core. I heard that there was a difference in the Coolant passages? is this true???

The water pump bypass may or may not be there. Otherwise they're more or less the same block.
