Does my have an in tank fuel pump?

I just scored a 86 T-top T/A for a mere $300. The car smells extremely rich when running. The engine is supposedly rebuilt. I change the carb from an Edelbrock Carter style carb, to a Holley 750. The engine is a small block 350 from a late 70's truck. It runs a mechanical fuel pump. The car was originally a LG4 carburated 305 car.
Does the gas tank have a fuel pump in it?
If so, should I remove my mechanical fuel pump, or can I use both fuel pumps?
I am trying to determine why the car is so rich without removing the engine and tearing it down to determine why it runs so bad.
Any insight is appreciated.
Be cool, thanks

It depends on what the previous owner did to it. He may have left the pump in the tank, just not hooked up or removed the pump from the tank. Either way it's probably not causing a rich condition. You might check the fuel pressure to see if it's too high if you are worred about that. I would look at the carb, adjust as needed and replace parts as needed. You might have a stuck float of something funny going on in the carb. Definitely don't need to pull the engine to cure a rich condition.

350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

Nope, no pump in the tank.
