crankshaft pulley removal part II
crankshaft pulley removal part II
now its all off and it wont go back on. the bolt for the balancer installation tool wont thread and neither will the crankshaft pulley bolt. it sure came out and now it wont go back on. now it looks like some threads stripped out of the crank a few pieces of metal came out of the hole. so much for an easy job. i just dont understand why it came out but wont go back in.
You've got a big problem. First try tapping the hole to clean up the threads and try it again. If that doesn't work, I would try getting a slightly longer bolt in hopes that you may have just damaged the first couple threads. Thats what happened to me.
just a WAG but i'd say your puller messed up a few threads when you removed the dampner. try chaseing the threads with a tap 7/16-24 i ithnk.

Did you used one of those caps, like the one I have from Tavia, to protect the crank snout from puller damage? If not, I'd say ede's guess is right on. Try cleaning the threads as he suggested.
